Al Baron Security Group is an internationally certified, Iraqi-owned private security company with British management, headquartered in the prestigious International Zone of Baghdad. Management Team

Herman Homśek

Country Director

Herman Homśek possesses over two decades of experience in overseeing and supervising security operations. Following a distinguished military career in the South African Defense Force, where he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel, he transitioned into the security industry. His experience encompasses active service in Iraq and Afghanistan, during which he served as the Country Manager for an international private security company. These roles have honed his management skills, which combine strategic leadership with profound operational knowledge, enabling him to provide oversight of security operations, engage in strategic planning, manage threats and risks, and lead successful crisis response initiatives.

Craig Scott

Director of Training and Compliance

Craig brings over two decades of experience in private security, with a strong focus on training, compliance, and crisis management. As Director of Training & Compliance at Al Baron, he upholds the highest international standards across challenging environments. Previous employment includes a Regional Training Manager role for a Globally recognised PSC, leading training programs in Iraq, Ukraine, and Libya for diplomatic and energy sector clients. Craig is skilled in developing local trainers, driver competency programs, and quality assurance systems. With certifications in advanced driving, emergency care, close protection, and fitness, he plays a vital role in delivering Al Baron’s elite, mission-ready training solutions.

Johnmary (JM) Asiimwe

Operations Support Manager

JM is a pivotal force behind Al Baron’s operational efficiency, bringing over 12 years of experience in Iraq’s security sector. As Operations Support Manager, he ensures compliance, optimizes manpower planning and rostering, manages billing and invoicing, and delivers consistent, high-quality support to clients and stakeholders. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration and Management and previously served for 10 years as Administration Manager for an international PSC on a major Oil & Gas project. His background also includes key roles with Near East Security Services, Sabre International, and Pinnacle Security. Johnmary’s leadership ensures smooth, responsive, and client-focused operations across Iraq.

Grassilah (Grassy) Kisembo

People & Capability Manager

Grassy is a highly accomplished professional in administration, human resources, and procurement, with a strong track record across corporate and field-based roles at DynCorp International, Aegis, and Pinnacle Security. As People & Capability Manager at Al Baron, she leads strategic workforce planning, talent development, and HR compliance, while streamlining procurement and operational systems. Known for her precision, leadership, and people-centric focus, Grassy builds resilient teams and efficient processes that enhance performance and drive value. Her expertise is instrumental to Al Baron’s delivery of high-quality, reliable security and HR solutions across complex environments in Iraq.

Gaynelle Scott

VP, US Subsidiary, Baron US LLC

Gaynelle Scott is the Chief Executive Officer of Baron USA, LLC, a privately held enterprise recognized as the only U.S. woman-owned security firm operating in Iraq and is part of the Al Baron Security Group located within Baghdad’s fortified Green Zone. Together, the two companies deliver specialized security solutions across complex, high-threat environments, serving diplomatic, commercial, and governmental clients.

Gaynelle has lived and worked in Monaco, Tunisia, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Djibouti, and Iraq, where she has been based for the past two decades. Throughout her career, she has consistently leveraged her deep expertise, cultural fluency, and diplomatic acumen to engage with senior government officials, C-suite executives, and key decision-makers across Washington, D.C. and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. She is also the CEO of K2 International, which is currently the only woman-owned US company in Iraq specializing in construction, life support, operations and maintenance and fuel supply to various embassies in Baghdad.

Operations Team

Al Baron’s Operations Team operates 24/7 from a fully equipped HQ in Baghdad’s International Zone, staffed by ex-British military and police with over 30 years of hostile security experience in Iraq. Using advanced GPS tracking, encrypted communications, and risk-monitoring systems, the team ensures real- time situational awareness and operational control. They monitor client movements, respond to alarms and emergencies, and maintain direct communication with the Operations Manager. The team also oversees health, safety, medical, and fire incidents within the Al Baron compound, liaising with local authorities when needed. Confidentiality and professionalism are central to every aspect of their mission-critical role.

Forming the backbone of our security operations, our Ground teams are rigorously vetted and expertly trained and equipped to operate in complex, high-threat environments with discipline, professionalism, and discretion. Al Baron has a fully accredited and approved training facility by Highfield International; Only the most competent and trustworthy individuals form part of our team.
